Context
“Affetti Collaterali” is Gian-Carlo Iannella’s self-published book collecting fifteen women’s own accounts of their encounters with violence — a painful, sincere journey told in their own words.
The book alternates four different voices: the author’s own reflections, relevant quotes, interviews with experts, and the fifteen women’s own interviews. The design needed to make that structure legible to the reader without ever getting in the way of what’s actually being told.
I designed both the jacket and interior of the book, self-published trough Amazon in a 6“×9“ paperback format, set in GT Alpina Regular with headings and cover artwork in GT Alpina Condensed Medium, both by Grilli Type.
