Product definition, UX/UI and rebranding for the Italian HealthTech startup that’s reshaping how people manage diabetes.

Dally: your ally against diabetes

Context

Dally is an Italian HealthTech startup reshaping how people manage diabetes. It began as a passion project by its founders: a simple insulin bolus calculator, built to make daily life easier for people with diabetes.

As Dally grew, the original app couldn’t grow with it. It needed a more stable, scalable technical foundation — and it needed to stop being a tool for patients alone. Doctors, clinics and associations had no way to take part: no screening, no remote monitoring, no shared view between what a patient logs and what a professional needs to act on it. Turning a personal calculator into something clinics could rely on also meant it had to hold up to the standard of certified medical software, not just a well-designed app.

The Dally ecosystem

I led product definition, UX/UI and rebranding across two connected platforms. Working closely with Dally’s founders and Geckosoft’s engineering team, the goal was to reimagine the original calculator as a full ecosystem, focusing on a seamless, human-centered and data-driven experience across mobile and web — designed to be accessible to patients while meeting the bar clinics and professionals need to trust it.

Dally mobile app

Rebuilt on a more stable, scalable foundation, the app integrates AI to turn everyday data — diet, activity, glucose levels — into personalized insights, moving Dally from a single-purpose calculator to a daily companion for metabolic health.

Web portal for professionals

A new web platform lets healthcare professionals, clinics and associations conduct screening tests, monitor patients remotely, and engage in preventive care — the piece that was entirely missing from the original app.
